Hailing from New York City, The Buck Ups began delivering their dynamic and creative performances in 2009. Armed with gritty and melodic songs based in the traditions of roots music, The Buck Ups were mainstays at great bygone NYC venues The Lakeside Lounge, The National Underground and Rodeo Bar. Phelps's songs are inspired by his years living among the ramblers of Portland, Oregon, the anglers of Cape Cod, MA, the punksters of the East Village, and places north, south and in between.
